Frequently asked questions
What should I bring to my first class?
Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy, closed-toe shoes, and tie back long hair. We provide basic tools and clay unless stated otherwise in the course description.
Do I need prior experience?
No. We clearly mark courses by level. Beginners start with centering, handbuilding basics, and safe studio habits.
How do kiln firings work?
We schedule regular bisque and glaze firings. Staff handle kilns. You’ll learn how temperatures (cones) and atmospheres affect results during class demos.
Are classes online or in-studio?
Both. Many courses are hybrid with live streams, replays, and optional in-studio practice blocks.
Can I reschedule or get a refund?
You can request rescheduling up to 72 hours before your start date. Refunds follow our Terms and depend on seat availability and materials already prepared.
Is the studio accessible?
Our ground-level workspace is wheelchair accessible. If you need accommodations, contact us ahead of time so we can prepare tools and stations.
Do you offer private or group sessions?
Yes. We host private lessons and team events. Share your goals via the contact form and we’ll tailor a session plan.
What safety practices do you enforce?
We use dust control, label chemicals, require closed-toe shoes, and keep clear kiln zones. Instructors supervise trimming, torch use, and kiln programming.
How do I choose the right class?
Filter by level and category in the catalog. If you’re unsure, start with “Wheel Throwing Fundamentals” or “Handbuilding Essentials.”
